About
The July 4th Celebration Committee invites you to participate in our annual parade celebrating our Nation’s Independence Day.
To complement the 2009 theme, “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave” the Parade Marshals will be local heroes who have given of themselves sacrificially and made a significant difference in the community.
Due to a conflicting event at the normal time, the parade is scheduled to start Saturday July 4, 2009 at 11 AM. Entry Forms must be returned by June 26, 2009, in order to insure your entry a spot in the parade. Please return your entry form to:
“We the People” Liberty Day Parade
P.O. Box 532
Boise, ID 83701
Entry Fees are as follows:
- $12.00 for walking groups
- $32.00 for a non-profit float and multiple vehicle entries.
- $52.00 for a commercial float and multiple vehicle entries.
These fees help pay for the various expenses accrued in putting on the parade including the liability insurance we are required to carry. Note we have raised the fees two dollars from last year. This is to fund prizes for the winners of the best entry contest. Payment for the fee may be made to the 501-c3 non-profit organization, “We the People July 4th Liberty Parade, Inc.”
Ways you can help:
- Participate in our poll at right on the scheduled parade time.
- Volunteer! Please call the Parade offices at 377-2364 if you or anyone you know is willing to volunteer during the parade.
- Donate, or encourage your employer to sponsor the parade.
- Please note the parade route. Enter the staging area at the corner of 11th and Bannock. Parade Entrants will be arranged in the Boise Corp. parking lot between Bannock and Jefferson.
- Please also note that the Boise Police have told us that you CANNOT throw candy from any moving vehicle. You may have walkers in your group HAND it out.
- If entering, carefully read the Parade and Float Rules that accompany the parade entry application. We’ve had too many entrants ignoring the rules in previous years, so to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the parade for everyone, we’ve been forced to stiffen the penalties for non-compliance.

I am a walking clown (in reality I ride a very small bicycle). Is it too late to apply.
Look at the following website for a free demonstration of ME.
Thanks

We are new to the Boise area. Could you give me some in the vacinity directions to “downtown Boise” from Meridian?
Hey guys,
My wife and I want to just walk in the parade as we did in the Tea Party Parade last April 15th. Are you requiring individuals like us to buy a Parade entry ticket just to march in it?
Thanks for your response.
Harry & Nancy Lear
Boise, Idaho
If I were you, I would encourge individuals to march with their signs for free, just like they did last April 15th. Those who want to enter floats or march as a group can pay an entry fee. Your objective, remember, is to get the largest possible number of marchers as you can since that’s how you get lotsa news coverage. Thanks.
Mr. Lear, unfortunately it appears you have misunderstood the nature of this event. This is not a protest of taxes or anything else. Our goal is to celebrate Independence Day in a traditional July Fourth Parade (like the Macy’s Christmas parade every Thanksgiving). Like most parade committees, we are a non-profit organization dependent on the community’s donations and the entry fees to cover the parade’s expenses.
Mr. Simpson, your entry sounds most welcome, but unfortunately the registration deadline of June 26th is past. If I hear differently, I’ll let you know.
Ms. Draney: I am not personally sure of that myself, but I’ll see about getting driving directions added to the site, thank you.
Anyone wanting to submit a late entry should call us at 208-377-2364. You can download a parade application at the link above and fax it to 208-362-8061
Dear Committee members, Thank you for the tremendous honor you bestowed on me to be a Marshall in the parade. As I greeted and thanked Gen. Doty at the sign in area, it struck me that I was being recognized and honored alongside of a man like him.
I sincerely appreciate that honor, and humbly submit that my gracious Lord Jesus is truly the One to be honored, as it is His grace and goodness that has made me the man that I am.
On behalf of my two grandsons who were thrilled to ride with me and myself, thank you again.
Sincerely,
Bill Roscoe
You are most welcome, Rev. Roscoe
